During our regular business hours, Camino Real Pet Clinic's medical staff and resources are available to help you with any emergency your pet experiences. How Do I Know When It's an Emergency?
The easiest answer as to whether you should seek emergency care for your pet is when you feel his or her medical condition is serious and cannot wait. However, the following general situations should help you determine if you need to seek emergency care for your pet:
- Difficulty breathing
- Acute abdominal swelling, bloated
- Electric shock
- Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
- Bleeding
- Suspected heat stroke
- Seizures
- Sudden onset of weakness, collapse
- High or low temperature (more than 104 or less than 100 degrees)
- Unable or straining to urinate or defecate
- Eye injury, no matter how mild
- Sudden swelling of face
- Suspected poison ingestion
- Snake bite
- Animal bite
- Trauma, hit by car
- Extreme pain
